Automated External Defibrillation (AED) training is delivered to be consistent with unit manufacturer and current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Training is provided for the participant to develop the skills and knowledge to apply and operate an AED until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services.
AED refresher training for trained persons should be undertaken on an annual basis as a minimum.

- 4 hours AED + CPR training

- 2 hrs AED only training, set course fee for groups of up to 10 participants is $450.00
- 4 hrs AED and CPR training, set course fee for groups of up to 10 participants is $700.00
Pre-requisites
- Minimum participant age is 14 yrs
- Current CPR certification (for 2 hour AED only option, see below)
Course includes
- Pre-operational unit checking
- Basic life support including:
- Recognition and first aid management of an unconscious/collapsed casualty
- Incorperation of the AED unit into DRABCD
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Practical training on CPR manikins incorporating AED use
- Calling for emergency services assistance
- Practical and theoretical assessment
- AED post use checking and maintenance

- 2 hour option includes AED unit use only
- 4 hour option incorporates full CPR and AED training session
